Why Bell Forwarders are Essential for Forest Operations

Bell Equipment is a well-known manufacturer of high-quality material handling equipment. The company has an international footprint, thus allowing us to supply Bell forwarders in South Africa.

The Bell name is associated with top quality, reliability, performance and optimal product support. An entire range of Bell machines is now manufactured in Africa, including their well-known forwarders, suitable for the harsh African work terrains.

The company has been known for their commitment to long-term relationship building, which is only possible if they provide adequate support, training, high-quality products and research. It is this commitment to excellence that has set Bell machines apart from their competitors. Bell goes the extra mile to understand customer needs and this is why their equipment is made for particular tasks specific to the environment in which the machines must operate.

As one of the largest suppliers of Bell machines, including wheel loaders, versalifts and forklifts, in South Africa, we are able to provide the parts, maintenance services and equipment for Bell machinery to clients throughout the country, at competitive prices.

Why Bell?

The Bell forwarders have superior features for maximising productivity. Known for their excellent fuel economy, the forwarders are built for rough terrain operation and long distances.

The Bell Timber Truck & Long Range Forwarder is a good example of the quality and functionality that you can expect from the brand. They offer the T403 and T302 in this range. Specifically designed for forest operations, the machines in the series have a gross power output of R205kW and torque of 1 000Nm. The trucks are fitted with Mercedes-Benz, 6 cylinder turbocharged intercooled, low emission engines.

The transmission system features six forward and one reverse gear options. The extra strong axle system is made of high strength steel. With the hydrostatically activated steering, operation is easy because the steering is highly responsive. The maximum speed is 53 km an hour in sixth gear with reversing possible up to 8km per hour.

When it comes to agricultural settings, the E-series forwarder is well-worth noting. Featuring a spacious cabin for maximum driver comfort and safety, the operator has all the tools and features to his disposal for best operation, including smooth levelling of the cabin, 360 degree view of the surrounds, remote control door opening and climate control.

Because the cabin features auto-levelling, the driver stays in the upright position throughout operations. This improves the driver’s ability to manage steering and controls and also enhances the safety profile of the machine. Optional rear view cameras make steering even safer and more enjoyable, irrespective of the terrain in which the machine must operate. With easily adjustable machine settings, the driver gains full control over the operation for maximum productivity.

The Bell forwarders in the E-series have exceptional loading space and improved grapple access to increase the speed of loading. This enables the driver to lift and sway heavy loads precisely with the innovative boom system.

We strongly recommend calling our consultants for expert advice on the type of forwarder that will suit your particular operation requirements in South Africa.
