Extra Robust Bell Loggers for Maximum Productivity in Working with Saw Logs and Pulp
The Bell logger designs came from the highly efficient designs of the Bell cane loaders and even today, there are still no rivals that can compete with the efficiency and cost effectiveness of the Bell loaders and loggers.
Irvine Bell was the inventor of the load and log concept design of the loggers as we know it today. The concept was developed during the early sixties, with the aim of designing a piece of machinery that could duplicate or replicate the way a person would approach a pile of cane or timber and pick it up. Irvine’s idea became a reality and it proved to be superior in design.
The machine design has over the years undergone a few changes to maximise its load capacity, agility and efficiency. The design simplicity is what makes the machine so beautiful and efficient. Many companies have tried to copy the Tri-Wheeler in the Bell product stable, but none has been successful. As one of the strongest, most efficient, robust and fuel economical machines of its kind, the Bell logger/loader is widely used in the timber industry.
The engine is made for operation in rather harsh terrain and conditions with low running cost, which helps to maintain a low cost per tonne logged or loaded. The machine components are durable and strong, and specifically selected to ensure safety and minimum downtime. With ongoing improvements in the component selection and design, customers have come to rely on Bell for superior quality products. It is this commitment to improvement that has enabled Bell to bring machines on the market that keep improving on productivity. The proven design of the hydraulic wheel motors and brake system combination ensures a superior ride.
The loader frame has a distinctive triangular shape which enables equal force distribution and maximum stability. The integration of the tank in the frame of the 125A logger is what gives it such a streamlined design.
The 125A Bell Logger has a pre-bunch pulp for grapple skid and is used for short distance skidding of timber and pulp, as well as the removal of timber from the landing deck. The unit is well-suited for the stacking of pulp, as well as sorting and mining of saw timber. It is also used for loading of logs, timber and pulp onto trailers at the road site.
The machine is well-priced, reducing the capital layout to increase productivity at saw mills. Characterised by an excellent fuel consumption rate and the low cost of maintenance because it has fewer working parts than many other machines performing similar functions, the highly agile machine has a multipurpose character. In this sense, Bell also helps to reduce the need to buy machines for every type of loading task.
The 220 MKII Logger is also a pre-bunching pulp skidder, suitable for shorter distances of skidding, the removal from timber from the landing pile and sorting or stacking of saw logs or pulp. The unity is also used for roadside loading, but thanks to its teleboom, it can also be used for heavier timber loading in smaller spaces. The loader can be fitted with larger wheels for operation in the zone load areas. Various other types of Bell loggers are available. We recommend discussing your particular logging requirements with one of our consultants who will help you choose the correct machine from our product stable to meet your particular requirements.
